I continued my education with the training as a cabinet maker, during which combined modern design with traditional craft was a major competence I achieved.
This method is also what I wanted to reflect in my "journeyman's piece": showing a traditional solid wood furniture reinterpreted. Clear lines, contrasts with different types of wood and on the other hand modern colours. Effects that the furniture´s pocket doors appear as a framed abstarct painting.
The rack underneath is rather designed simply and therefore introduces another contrast: the contrast of warm wood and cold metall, as the difference between tradition and modernity. All in all a combination of practical and ornamental. The inside of my furniture is designed plain and functional, offers enough space for all my art utensils.
